a new first

Today is Keara’s very first ballet recital. They did their rehearsal last night, and it was so cool. All the children were adorable. The older girls were breath-taking. My daughter, of course, was precious.
Will update later, with pictures, if I can get any good ones.

When I was a child, I fantasied about how wonderful it was going to be when I was all grown up.
I would eat what I wanted to eat, when I wanted to eat it.
I would travel all over the world.
I would go to bed when I wanted to go to bed, and where [...]

my dream. may 27, 2008

I had an interesting dream a bit ago. I got very little sleep last night, and ended up waking very early this morning too. I folded all the blankets, towels etc. in the living room, sat down to start the smaller stuff, and literally fell a sleep.
So as not to make this very [...]

a lovey note:

My son Denver (15) just started his summer job today. He left the house at 5:45am. I was definitely still asleep at the hour. When I got up, I found a note propped against my computer screen.
Bye,
Mum, I love you.

ugh … car shopping

What a nightmare.
I can’t seem to find anything, in my price range (which is admittedly lower than most). I want such specific things, it’s hard to find what we need.
We looked at two yesterday. Test drove one of them again today – they had to fix an issue we found yesterday. [...]

car issue looking up

Well …
We may be getting a new smaller, more fuel efficient family car, in the very near future. It will take some sacrifices (mostly dignity *sigh*) and some diligence, but it looks like in the next 2 – 4 days we may be able to drive again!
God is good.

So far, so good.
Denver has soaked his foot twice yesterday, in very hot water and Epsom salts. The wound looks nice and clean, and there is no redness, at all. None. I’ll keep an eye on it, but like I said …. so far, so good.

Denver was mucking about in his garden area this afternoon. Apparently another child, who will remain nameless, threw a board in his garden, a couple of days ago. Said child left the board there, and didn’t warn anyone about the board. The board had two gross dirty icky nails sticking up out of [...]
